Junior Exhibition TextIn the printmaking project, we had to carve our desired image in a linoleum block and print it. For this assignment, we were allowed to chose the subject that we wanted to work with so I chose to carve out a geometric heart because I wanted to explore organic subjects since I mostly work with inorganic objects. I have always been intrigued by the complexity and unique structure that the human heart has so I decided to give it a twist and turn it into an angled, geometric heart. My two dimensional pieces will consist of three overlapping prints that are in contrasting colors to give the complete piece an anaglyph effect. Since I most of my works have inorganic subjects, my intention was to use an organic subject and turn it into something that does not look that organic and that it looks more structured, with straight and angular lines.
